Who

Charles Yerkes holds an MA in Theological Studies from Liberty University and is the founder of the Simple Not Shallow Ministry.

He has a passion for God and for helping others grow in their relationship with God.

His emphasis is on doing this through focusing on the basics. By looking at everything discussed through the lens of what it means to be a Christian.

Because, like every good musician or ballplayer will tell you, without a firm grasp and mastery of the basics, you will never reach your full potential. Or, we could say, you will never know the abundance of life Jesus came to give.

Head of Podcasting

Gerald Yerkes, recently retired from the pastorate after 54 years of serving in that capacity, is grateful for the opportunity to continue proclaiming God’s message through these podcasts.

He invites you to join him on a journey. The goal of which is to ensure we are able to present ourselves to God unashamedly.

Even as the Apostle Paul challenged Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15, we are called to work hard in order to present ourselves to God as approved workmen with no reason to be ashamed.

Why

The purpose of this online ministry is to help others grow in their relationship with God.

It is a ministry that celebrates the fact that entering into a relationship with God is simple enough for a child to understand, and yet living a life dedicated to this relationship requires you to learn, think, and act. In other words, to be anything but shallow.

The name Simple Not Shallow refers to faith. A faith that is simple enough that a child may have it (Mark 10:14,15) and one that has the wisdom of a serpent (Matthew 10:16).

In other words, one that is thought out, practical, and strong enough to face the real-world challenges that face us all.
