SNS 118: Receptive To God’s Call?

 

Every journey begins with one step. Last time, we saw that the first step is to be born again. And this is only experienced through a personal relationship with Jesus. 

The first thing required for this step is that we must be receptive to God’s call. What is this call? That is the topic of this episode.

Romans 1:18 – 21 – God revealing his anger against those who suppress the truth, because God has made obvious who he is.

John 6:22 – 28 – The multitude see Jesus and ask, “When did you get here?”  And Jesus giving them an answer they didn’t expect. And their asking how they too can work the works of God.

John 6:29 – Jesus’ answer to that is that the work they are to do is to believe in him, the one the Father has sent. 

John 6: 44 – 45 – No one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws him, and those the Father draws, he teaches. And everyone who has learned from the Father does come to Jesus.

John 16:7 – 9 – Jesus telling us that it is best for him to go so that he could send the Advocate. And that the Advocate would convict the world concerning sin, concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment.

James 1: 21 – 29 – Get rid of all filth and wickedness and in humility receive the word that has been planted in you, which is able to save your souls.

Matthew 10:38 – He who does not take up his cross daily is not worthy of Jesus.

John 14:27 – Jesus gives us the gift of peace, not a peace such as the world offers. It is a peace of both mind and heart.
